<p class="MsoNormal">This year we had a record of 77 volunteers help with <a href="https://www.discnw.org/events/SpringReign/">Spring Reign</a>! This was a
huge help to DiscNW staff and the Spring Reign tournament directors. We feel so
lucky to have such a vibrant Ultimate community in the Northwest and have so
many people willing to spend their time helping and supporting that community!

<p class="MsoNormal"><b><u>Support DiscNW in
the GiveBIG Campaign</u></b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal">As you may know, tomorrow, May 5<sup>th</sup>, is the <a href="http://www.seattlefoundation.org/GivingCenter/GiveBIG/Pages/Default.aspx">Seattle
Foundation’s GiveBIG Campaign</a>! The Seattle Foundation’s GiveBIG is a
one-day online charitable giving event to inspire people to give generously to
nonprofit organizations that make our region healthier and a more vital place
to live. We hope that you will consider donating to DiscNW to help benefit our <a href="https://www.discnw.org/about/youthDevelopmentFund.html">Youth Development
Fund</a>, which finances youth activities and initiatives designed to promote
the sport of Ultimate and support the participation of underserved populations
in the sport. Examples include free or inexpensive youth Ultimate camps,
financial aid for DiscNW youth events, grants for new youth groups, disc
donations and more.</p>

Each online donation made to the 1,600 nonprofit organizations profiled on The

<p class="MsoNormal"><b><u>Summer Youth Hat
Leagues</u></b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><br></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">This summer we are offering two youth hat league options for
kids entering grades 6-12. <b>Registration for these leagues will open
tomorrow, May 5<sup>th</sup></b>.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal">We will have our regular <b><a href="https://www.discnw.org/events/SummerYouthHatPlay/">Summer Hat
League</a></b>, which will focus on the fundamentals of Ultimate. This is a
great opportunity for kids who are still learning how to play or would prefer a
more laid back atmosphere. Each week teams will have a skill building session
before their game and each week will focus on a different rule or aspect of
Ultimate. </p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal">We will also be offering <b><a href="https://www.discnw.org/events/SummerYouthClubPlay/">Performance
Club League</a></b> for kids interested in playing more competitively,
emphasizing development for elite or near-elite youth play. This league will
have practices each week with a few organized scrimmages working towards a
tournament at the end of the summer. YCC players will be taking leadership
roles in this league, so a USAU affiliate membership ($15) will be required in
addition to the league fee. </p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b><u>VC Ultimate
Leadership Training Camp</u></b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal">New this summer is our VC Ultimate Leadership Training Camp;
an overnight Ultimate camp at UW, directed by the UW women’s Ultimate coach,
Kyle Weisbrod. This camp is open to ages 14-18. This awesome new camp will be
coached by some of Seattle’s best coaches and help campers develop their
Ultimate skills as well as their leadership skills on and off the field. We are
excited to announce that campers will also get a hands-on experience with <a href="https://www.discnw.org/events/829/info/dartfish/">Dartfish video analysis
technology</a> to improve their throwing, cutting and marking. <a href="https://www.discnw.org/events/VCULTCamp/">Registration is now open</a>!</p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b><u>Eastside Youth
Ultimate Camp</u></b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal">For the first time this year, we will be hosting an Eastside
Youth Ultimate Camp for ages 8-14. The camp will take place August 3-7 at
Robinswood Park. <a href="https://www.discnw.org/events/EastsideCamp/">Registration
is now open</a>!</p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b><u>Swing It To Summer
Party</u></b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><br></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Join us for a night of dancing and games at 8pm on Saturday,
May 30<sup>th</sup> at the Magnuson Brig! There will be beer, snacks, a raffle,
balloon pops and some other disc games. Because there will be beer, this is a
21+ event. There will be a ticket price that is TBD but all proceeds will go to
support the <a href="https://www.discnw.org/about/youthDevelopmentFund.html">Youth
Development Fund</a>. </p>
