Hello Ultimate Friends,

Here are a few notes for you this month about ultimate happenings....

   1. Fall Bid - Youth Fundraiser

*1. Fall Bid - Youth Fundraiser

DiscNW's third annual dinner auction, Fall Bid, will take place on the
evening of *Saturday, November 9*, at the Best Western Executive Inn, near
the Seattle Center. Registration is open!

Table Captains with all eight of their table members registered online by
November 1 will have their table entered into a drawing for a special prize
at the event. Table captains also receive special thanks and a DiscNW Youth
Development Fund Disc for their help with promoting the event.

Fall Bid raises money for DiscNW's Youth Development Fund, which finances
youth activities and initiatives designed to promote the sport of Ultimate
and support the participation of underserved populations in the sport.

If you would like to donate an item to the auction or participate on the
Fall Bid planning committee, please contact Wynne Scherf at

*2. One-day Hat Tournaments

This Thanksgiving tradition gives Ultimate players the opportunity to run
off some of those second and third helpings of stuffing while giving
something to charity. Donations go to NW Harvest, an organization focused
on helping disadvantaged families with a basic necessity: food.
*Chick Flick - Saturday, December 7**

Renowned for Spirit of the Game, the Chick Flick is for women of all
ability levels.  It is a chance to play with women of all different skill
levels, to improve your skills in a tournament setting, and to get to know
more of the women in our Northwest Ultimate community.

This one of a kind event for men is a December classic now in it's 13th
year.  It's a great way to enjoy warm beverages, soup, fruit and snacks and
some fun competition.

Please help guide the future of youth ultimate in the Northwest by
responding to DiscNW's youth strategic survey. We encourage you to respond
whether or not you attended the Youth Summit in September.
