DiscNW Youth Summit

 

Want to take part in the discussion about the future of youth Ultimate in
Seattle?  This is the event for you!

Time: Registration at 12:45 pm. Event runs 1-5:30 pm.
Location: "The Brig" at Magnuson Park

Desired Outcomes:

.         To inform and prioritize the strategic direction of short- and
long-term youth Ultimate initiatives at DiscNW.

.         To enhance and inform the development of youth Ultimate's
"Governing Body" at DiscNW.

.         To continue to build relationships within the DiscNW community.

.         To encourage involvement and commitment from participants moving
forward.

Seattle Parks for All Levy

 

Seattle Proposition 2-the Seattle Parks and Green
<http://keep.seattleparksforall.org/>  Spaces Levy will be up for vote on
November 4.

 

The levy will provide funding for several Ultimate field renovations and a
number of other improvements that will likely affect your community.  If it
fails, we will lose a major source of funding for parks improvements, since
the current levy expires this year. 

 

What can you do to help, besides voting "yes" on Prop 2?

1. Donate. 

Make a donation to the campaign online at the Seattle Parks for All
<https://www.upwardstech.net/seattleparks/>  website. 

Donations made directly to the campaign by Ultimate community members will
be matched by DiscNW, up to $5,000.  To make sure that your donation gets
counted, write "DiscNW" in the memo line of your check, and email
advocacyinfo at discnw.org to tell us how much you donated! 

2. Party! 

Save the date for the following house party, which will collect donations to
support the Seattle Parks for All campaign:

Seattle Teams Advance to the UPA Club Championships

 

Congratulations to Riot, Sockeye, D'oh, Shazam Remains, and Throwback!
These Seattle teams have qualified for the UPA Club Championships to take
place in Sarasota, FL over the Halloween weekend.  Let's wish them luck in
their bids to bring home the gold.
